PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

  • Use troubleshooting skills to diagnose system and equipment problems.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on plant equipment and systems.
  • Perform installation/replacement of plant equipment and systems.
  • Assist in planning and scheduling work for outages.
  • Assist in the administration and execution of the preventative maintenance program.
  • Assist in maintaining and controlling the plant inventory system.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot plant control system, gas quality monitoring system and associated balance of plant instrumentation and control equipment.
  • Install revisions or modifications to plant systems, update controls drawings and schematics.
  • Maintain custody records of calibration and test equipment.
  • Communicate and interact with inter-departmental personnel, vendors, and customer as necessary to accomplish tasks.
  • Follow all approved plant operating, maintenance and health and safety procedures.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.
  • Be familiar with the Safety Policy, as well as the safety risks, legal, regulatory and other requirements that apply to the employee&rsquos job responsibilities and location as well as operational controls to manage compliance and risk. 
  • Maintain safety awareness, safety training related training qualifications, and knowledge of emergency response procedures.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Technical training (trade or military)
  • Five years power plant or industrial plant, I & C maintenance experience.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude, basic steam plant and combustion turbine knowledge.
  • Computer, spreadsheet and word processing experience.
  • Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.  Decisions are made based on formal procedures, calculations, deductive reasoning, and consultation with supervisor.
  • Experience with analytical troubleshooting techniques and root cause failure analysis.
