PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
· The Electrician perform electrical installations, routine inspections, trouble shooting and repairs, both scheduled and unscheduled, to equipment and machinery, in the Central Utility Plant.
· Works closely with others to ensure compliance with governmental regulations and company policies
· Completes, on-time, delivery of electrical services to ensure compliance with company standards for cost control, quality, safety, efficiency and equipment reliability are achieved.
· Performs preventive and predictive maintenance on equipment, machinery and components as scheduled.
· Assists with electrical and instrumentation installations, maintenance, repairs and replacements as needed.
· Maintain favorable working relationship with peers in order to support positive employee morale, productivity and continued improvement.
· Be familiar with the Safety Policy, as well as the safety risks, legal, regulatory and other requirements that apply to the employee’s job responsibilities and location as well as operational controls to manage compliance and risk.
· Maintain safety awareness, safety training related training qualifications, and knowledge of emergency response procedures.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
· Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent
· A minimum of four (4) or more years of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Strong understanding of electricity and/or electrical contracting trade.
· Experience with low and medium voltage switchgear (up to 13.8 kV) and associated safe work practices
· Experience with protective relaying, switchgear controls and power metering
· Good understanding of equipment related to heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) processes. This includes, but is not limited to, pumps, valves, piping systems, and compressors.
· Familiar with boiler and/or chillers
