The Reactor Operator Licensee candidate attends training to attain their Reactor Operator License from the NRC.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Candidates attending class with the intent of attaining an RO License.
Study time, field time needed to attain licensed status.
Other duties, as assigned, to support site operations.
Expected hourly rate of $63.12 along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401K.
Qualifications
Required:
Education/Experience:
High school education or equivalent and should possess a high degree of manual dexterity and mature judgement.
Must have a minimum of 3 years of power plant experience (credits can be applied for academic equivalence.)
Must have at least 6 months as a qualified non-licensed operator on site (or 12/18 months at a comparable/non-comparable commercial power reactor facility.)
OR
Must have at least 6 months experience as an active reactor operator at a comparable commercial power reactor facility (or 9 months at a non-comparable commercial power reactor facility.)
OR
Must have at least 24 months experience in a position equivalent to the reactor operator position at a military reactor (qualified to manipulate or direct the manipulation of control rods.)
Knowledge:
Knowledge of Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) &/or Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) plant systems.
Skills/Abilities:
Candidates should have high personal initiative, good oral, written, computer, mathematical and interpersonal skills. The ability to read, write and analyze reports and written materials, e.g. piping and instrument diagrams. The ability to see, hear, and speak to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper safety conditions. Demonstrated responsibility, reliability, and leadership. Ability to exercise good judgment in handling operations under pressure.
