LOCATION

This role offers hybrid flexibility. As a hybrid role, an in-office presence will be required occasionally, as requested by leadership. Incumbents will need to reside within commuting distance to one of our office locations. Office locations include Baltimore, MD; Houston, TX; Chicago, IL; Kennett Square, PA; or Boston, MA.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Account Manager will provide post deal and pre-deal support for the BDMs and customers assigned to them. This role requires a proficient understanding of our systems/processes to accurately and timely address customer issues. This role is customer facing and requires the ability to communicate effectively with customers in person, on the phone, or via email to strengthen our relationships and drive customer satisfaction. This role is critical to the success of the Regional Sales Teams which looks to ensure long-standing continuation and expansion of relationships with accounts that represent the company's most valuable customers and prospects. The Account Manager is charged with ensuring Constellation's business objectives are profitably pursued and successfully achieved.

The Senior Account Manager is self-motivated and independently provides post deal and pre-deal support for the BDMs and customers assigned to them. This role is customer facing and requires the ability to communicate effectively with customers in person, on the phone, or via email to strengthen our relationships and drive customer satisfaction. The Senior Account Manager will act as a trainer, coach and mentor to other less senior Account Managers.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Account Manager 1:
    • Provides post deal solutions and demonstrates skills to assist customers/brokers with issue resolution. Performs quality proactive welcome calls and first bill calls as well as provides Energy Manager portal expertise to ensure seamless customer onboarding. Responsible for Adds/Drops/Changes in Ownership. (45%)
    • Pre-deal support of direct and indirect customers/brokers. Internal deal coordinator to clear issues and obtain approvals for pricing and contracting. Will support renewals and new business as needed. (40%)
    • Knowledge of systems/processes as well products/services to ensure a best in class customer experience. Participates in efforts to enhance and improve processes and systems to better serve our customers/brokers. (10%)
    • Develops proactive behaviors to strengthen customer relationships. Demonstrates organizational agility and communication skills to serve as a liaison with cross functional teams to quickly and accurately resolve issues. Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively in person, on the phone, or via email. (5%)
  • Account Manager II:
    • Build and expand customer relationships by consistently delivering best-in-class customer service while acting as a single point of contact for the Customer (or Broker/Partner) and proactively touching the customer via regular communications.
    • Execute on account plans including Quotas and Customer Touch Points, Customer Satisfaction measurements.
    • Manage the account renewal process:
    • Building relationships with customers and/or Broker/Partners to ensure seamless renewals in advance of contract expiration of product fit to meet customer's goals and objectives monitoring contract end dates & ensuring all inputs are present to put a contract in place in accordance with utility enrollment timelines.
    • Support a deal from initial deal capture through pricing and contracting.
    • Customer on-boarding to include, but not limited to enrollment confirmation, welcome call, billing setup confirmation, contract review, Account Services setup, 1st invoice review.
    • Ownership and management of issue resolution to include service requests, identification and building of internal team and delivery of resolution to customer.
    • Produce and manage customer deliverables & reporting (Constellation New Energy-standard, customer-specific & ad-hoc).
    • Build and leverage internal relationships with functional teams, Legal, Operations, Pricing, etc.
    • Maintain knowledge of market specifics, UDC rules, products, processes, internal functional teams, etc.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR ACCOUNT MANAGER 1

  • Highly proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills to function in a team environment and to maintain rapport with
  • employees and customers.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, problem-solving, and independent decision-making.
  • Ability to effectively build and maintain relationships with internal customers.
  • Flexibility on the job and the ability to work under multiple, daily deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information always.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR ACCOUNT MANAGER 1

  • 2+ years of industry experience
  • 2+ years of sales or sales support experience
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR ACCOUNT MANAGER 2

  • 3+ years of industry experience
  • 3+ years of sales or sales support experience
  • Highly proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills to function in a team environment and to maintain rapport with employees and customers.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, problem-solving, and independent decision-making.
  • Ability to effectively build and maintain relationships with internal customers
  • Flexibility on the job and the ability to work under multiple, daily deadlines.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR ACCOUNT MANAGER 2

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong proficiency with MS Excel, such as pivot tables and v-lookups
