Hillabee Generating Station is owned and operated by Constellation. Hillabee is a three-unit, 753-megawatt (MW) combined-cycle natural gas-fueled power plant located in Tallapoosa County near Alexander City, Alabama.

Hillabee went into full commercial operation in 2009. The plant is fueled by clean-burning natural gas and uses combined-cycle technology, which recycles heat exhaust to create additional electricity with minimal waste and less water usage. The plant is also fitted with Selective Catalytic Reduction technology, which significantly reduces nitrogen oxide emissions.

Expected hourly rate of $38.00 to $46.10, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401K.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role will be to operate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all mechanical, I/C, or electrical equipment as required to support plant operations and maintenance to maximize asset value and reliability.

Maintenance Technician:

• Uses the computerized maintenance management system to document work performed and maintain spare parts inventory. 
• Experienced at using data to solve complex equipment issues and providing solutions
• Perform maintenance and repair work on plant equipment. 
• Mechanical Maintenance primary focus is on pumps, gearboxes, fans, turbines, bearings, boilers, pipe systems, valves and other combustion turbine or steam turbine mechanical equipment.
• I&C / Electrical Maintenance primary focus is on motors, sensors, instrumentation, relay protection, breakers, heat trace, Distributed Control System, PLCs, and other combustion turbine or steam turbine electric/Instrumentation equipment.
• Trains and develops other employees in performing preventive maintenance and routine equipment service activities.  

 I&C/Electrical/ Maintenance Technician:

Qualifications

Qualifications

 Minimum:

Associates Degree in Power Plant Technology, Engineering Technology, or Electronics OR 

HS Diploma with minimum of 24 months of trade or technical training in Power Plant Technology 

Successfully complete the training requirements and time in job requirements for the position including previously passing the EEI TECH test

Day Shift with overtime as required   

Good oral and written communication skills

 Basic computer skills 

Understanding of power plant prints and schematics 

Valid driver's license and access to an insured vehicle 

Ability to work in a power plant environment that includes climbing and walking long distances 

Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds

 Preferred: 

Power plant operating experience 

O&M technician with experience in Control room operations, Experience in electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic instrumentation and controls

Position Scope:

The incumbent in this position must be able to communicate across all levels of the organization.  The O&M Technician must have previously passed testing requirements and qualifications before performing this role.
