Expected salary range:

Maintenance Planner $102,600 to $114,000

Lead Maintenance Planner $113,400 to $126,000

Ranges are per year based on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401K.



PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Lead Maintenance Planner supports the Supervisor Maintenance Planner by coordinating discipline specific planner workload, coordinating emergent work, and mentoring and motivating the planners. The Lead Maintenance Planner is responsible for the assignment, coordination and execution of activities within the Maintenance Planning Group to ensure a productive workforce that supports all divisional, departmental, site and corporate goals while in accordance with the QA Manual, company policies and local, state and federal regulations. Lead Maintenance Planner proactively monitors work planning performance, maintains quality and standardization of work packages, and supports open dialogue and engagement with the Work Management group. The Lead Maintenance Planner, when not coordinating and mentoring, functions as a discipline planner. During absences of the Supervisor Maintenance Planner, the Lead Maintenance Planner will support activities normally fulfilled by the Supervisor such as meeting attendance and support of the Maintenance Planning Manager.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Support Supervisor(s) Maintenance Planner by effectively coordinating the planning group personnel to ensure that all assigned activities are performed effectively and efficiently in accordance with plant procedures and local, state and federal regulations. Coordinate with discipline respective planners' preparation of work instructions that provide direction to the Maintenance Department for corrective maintenance repairs, performance of preventive maintenance and surveillances, and the implementation of modifications. (40%)
  • Performs the function of a Maintenance Planner. Conducts field walk-downs to identify and analyze corrective and preventive maintenance, modification, and surveillance activities. Interface with Work Management, Supply, and Engineering to identify and resolve work package issues. Verify work instructions are adequate and comply with all applicable station procedures including NSPs, NSWPs, ASME Code, etc. Review and approve all required work packages, including 10.CFR50.59 screening or evaluation (if required). Develop, revise, and review maintenance procedures to facilitate and enhance work package development, quality, and Maintenance direction. (35%)
  • Lead, mentor and provide motivation for respective discipline station planners. (10%)
  • Participates in various aspects of Maintenance Department management to support safe and efficient operation of the plant. Participate in work control, coordination, scheduling, and Engineering meetings involving on-line, load reductions, forced outages and refuel outages. Ensuring planning activities are properly assigned, planned, and ready to work. Fosters open communications and collaboration between all organization internal and external to the plant. (10%)
  • Effectively communicates personnel issues to Supervisor Maintenance Planner (5%)


JOB SCOPE

  • Coordinates workload of respective discipline planners, typically 5-7 planners.
  • Functions as a discipline planner.
  • Function as Project Manager for special projects as required.
  • Maintain needed ERO qualifications for assigned role.
  • Participates in duty team rotations as applicable to site requirements.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS for Maintenance Planner

  • High school diploma with minimum of four years experience in the craft discipline that he/she is planning work packages

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS for Lead Maintenance Planner

  • 4 years’ experience in the craft he/she supervises and plans work packages
  • Must have completed a positive Leadership Assessment (FLS)
  • Meet ANSI requirements for site Maintenance Supervisor
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent problem solving, decision making and planning skills

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4-year or two year technical degree
  • Successful completion of core supervisory/management training and development programs
  • 5 years minimum experience in nuclear power plant operations
  • Previous Corrective Action / Root Cause Analysis Training
