Colorado Bend II Generating Station located in Wharton, Texas is a 1,143-megawatt (MW) combined-cycle gas and steam turbine generation facility in Wharton, Texas, owned and operated by Constellation. The facility began commercial operations in June 2017 and includes two low-carbon combined-cycle gas turbines (CCGT).

Colorado Bend II's gas turbines are the most advanced design of their type, making them two of the cleanest, most efficient combined-cycle gas turbine units in the country. The new units use air for cooling instead of water, which is important in drought-prone Texas.

Expected salary range, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

Entry Level - $752K -$80K

Mid Level - $88,200 - $106,000

Sr Level - $115,200- $125,000

Ranges are per year based on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401K.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Provide technical direction and guidance to site operations and maintenance staff for assigned discipline. The position involves system and equipment troubleshooting, root cause analysis, performance monitoring, and defining outage work and maintenance priorities. Disciplines include: natural gas fired combined cycle, boiler/aux, steam turbine/rotating equipment, I&C, electrical, pollution control and thermal performance. 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Provide technical support to plant operations and maintenance.
• Provide system/component troubleshooting and root cause analysis investigation.
• Define outage work scope and assemble engineering work packages as necessary.
• Prepare reports, procedures and proposals as required.
•Works with central based Support Group Engineers towards improving system and component reliability and cost effectiveness.

• Prepare capital project justification, installation oversight, and acceptance testing oversight.

• Prepare design change packages to document plant modifications and system improvements.

• Interface with plant asset OEM's to optimize equipment material condition and incorporate recommendations. 

• Perform all other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS for Entry Level E01 Engineer – New Graduate

• E1- BS Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS for Mid-level E02 Engineer

• E2 -B.S. in Engineering and 2+ years (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS for Senior E03 Engineer

• B.S. in Engineering or Licensed Professional Engineer and 5+ years engineering experience
• Knowledge of applicable discipline codes and standards
• Strong computer skills, including knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Products
• 
  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal

• Advanced technical degree or related coursework
• FLS experience
