Job Summary

The Purchasing Assistant will execute daily activities to procure parts, tools and other related materials associated with the repair service for HVAC equipment, appliances, generators, etc.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Function):

• Works as part of a team to support our service division in respect to researching correct parts needed for repair orders and issues purchase orders to appropriate suppliers for HVAC equipment, appliances, generators, etc.
• Seeks lowest cost provider and availability
• Communicates directly with internal and external customers to update and resolve problems that include delays with components and materials or for parts that may be no longer available.
• Ensures all work is performed in a safe environment.

Knowledge
General knowledge of HVAC/appliance service industry and procurement activities.

Skills/Abilities

• Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with accuracy and urgency
• Ability to perform data entry and handle inbound phone calls
• Effective communication and customer service skills to work directly with external customers

Competencies

• Computer literate with Microsoft Office products like Excel

Other (Including physical requirements, working conditions, etc.):

• Overtime and various work hours may be required to support business operations.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
• Job will require occasional Saturdays
• An employee in this position is considered essential.
