Expected salary range of $110,700 to $123,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Responsible for providing technical, regulatory and programmatic direction on environmental issues for Constellation’s hydroelectric, fossil, and renewable energy facilities. Assures that the highest level of compliance is maintained with all applicable environmental rules and regulations. Responsible for governance, oversight, licensing, permitting and completion of specific environmental regulatory filings in one or more environmental programs including, but not limited to, solid and hazardous waste management, environmental management system (EMS), and environmental, social, and governance (ESG).


PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Prepare, review and submit agency applications, reports and filings, and respond to agency inquiries. Lead agency negotiations and comment on proposed permits. 
  • Provide facility advice, develop and implement environmental strategies, prepare and issue regulatory interpretations related to area of subject matter expertise (Waste, EPCRA, EMS, ESG, etc.).  Comment on proposed regulations 
  • Provide technical and regulatory support and expertise to environmentally related projects and programs to assure compliance with all appropriate environmental regulations. 
  • Facilitate the implementation and maintenance of the existing EMS, including developing and revising process models, programs, procedures and tools for coordinated implementation. 
  • Provide programmatic direction and facilitate development, implementation, and maintenance of environmental aspects of Power’s ESG program. 
  • Coordinate and serve as primary point of contact for audit program. 
  • Develop and track site level environmental performance. 
  • Review and update the Management Model related to area of subject matter expertise (waste, EPCRA, & EMS, ESG, etc.). 
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.


JOB SCOPE

  • Position reports to Manager, Environmental Programs
  • Position has a direct impact on plant operation and serves as in-house technical expert/consultant to fleet-wide Power facilities in area of expertise.
  • Work with Environmental Issues group to provide guidance to sites on upcoming regulatory compliance issues.
  • Position requires a high level of independence and ability to make decisions in areas of subject matter expertise.
  • Position requires communication and interaction with Power business units that include but are not limited to operations, sustainability, strategy, government affairs, supply, legal, communications, auditing, and financial.

 

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS in engineering, natural or physical sciences, chemistry, or environmental science with 6+ years professional experience OR
  • Associates Degree with 8+ years experience and 3+ years exempt-level experience OR
  • H.S. diploma with 10+ years experience and 5+ years exempt-level experience
  • In-depth knowledge of environmental regulatory requirements for power plants
  • Ability to manage multiple issues/priorities with conflicting priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal.
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • RCRA/DOT experience
  • CERCLA experience
  • EMS and/or ISO14001 experience
  • Understanding of Environmental aspects of ESG
  • EPCRA 311 and 312 experience
  • Auditing experience
  • Project Management experience
  • Knowledge of power plant operations
